DEA Approves Biometric Authentication for e-prescribing
 
The DEA recently announced new regulations that will enable e-prescriptions for controlled substances.  The regulations offer a choice of several physician authentication options for e-prescribing.  Iris biometric authentication has one of the lowest costs among the approved solutions and is fast, easy to use, and reliable.  The SafeMatch® system, with a zero measured false accept rate and a zero measured false reject rate, will meet all DEA requirements and is easily integrated with your e-prescribing software.
 
Independent Testing Report:  SafeMatch®  Leads Industry in Accuracy, Ease of Use

The SafeMatch® system was tested in Comparative Biometric Testing Round 7, an independent evaluation performed by the respected industry firm International Biometric Group (IBG) under international standard procedures. 

The SafeMatch® system performed flawlessly in large scale testing on New York City residents.  In over 8 million transactions the system never misidentified a subject and never failed to identify a person registered in the system.  As IBG reported, this is the first time a product tested under IBG's cross-comparative methodology achieved perfect transactional matching error rates (0.00% T-FMR and 0.00% T-FNMR). 

 

Iris identification is recognized as the most accurate biometric, normally outperforming less accurate contact biometrics like palm-vein and fingerprints, but this performance level sets a new industry standard even for iris ID systems.

The SafeMatch® system also sets new industry standards for speed of operation.  The IBG report comments that enrollment speed is "striking, with median enrollment durations in the 10-12 second range" with a median recognition time of only 1.73 seconds.
